Leadership Communication: Leading Through Change

A one-day, in-person workshop on leadership communication.
Led by Dasha Dollar-Smirnova MSc

23rd of January 2027, London at Sadler's Wells Theatre, from 9.30am till 5.30pm

Why change stalls

Most change fails because of people.

BCG found that 70% of the problems companies hit when implementing AI come down to people and process, and only 10% to the technology. Too often, that's because companies treat AI as a technology implementation, when it's really a culture change. And when it comes to changing culture, clear, open and consistent leadership communication can decide whether it works or fails. Yet most leaders don't see the gap: 80% believe their communication is clear, but only half of their employees agree with them!

This workshop helps you close it.

Who it's for

Founders, CEOs, managing directors and senior leaders of growing and established businesses who need to take their team somewhere new. That might mean scaling past the point where you had a small, tight-knit startup team where everyone knew each other, steering through a difficult year, or making AI stick when your team has different levels of expertise or enthusiasm for the technology.

Whoever your audience is, whether that's your leadership team, your board or your employees, change only sticks when you connect with them and your message lands.

The approach

This is a practical workshop built around introducing communication techniques and frameworks that work for any change, now or later. You'll practise with realistic scenarios drawn from real life examples and aligned to your own challenges.

On the day we will cover:

The change story.
A simple framework for explaining change from your audience's perspective that can be adapted for any situation.

Talking about what you don't know. How to be honest and genuine about uncertainty without losing authority.

Tough questions and bad news. How to deliver news people don't want to hear whilst staying open, and how to sound credible when someone asks the question everyone else is thinking.

Mind, body, voice. Presence and delivery are just as important as the words you choose. Simple techniques on how to keep composure, be engaging and speak with authority in all types of situations.

Room, screen and one-to-one. How your message and delivery needs to adapt for a town hall, a video call or a quiet conversation with one person.

Bringing your managers with you. How to work with your team to ensure your message is carried forward and shared consistently, even when you are not in the room.

How it works

Before: a one-to-one video call with Dasha to understand your role, the kind of change you lead and the challenegs you face.
